Dr. Minh Vu has clinical expertise in optometry and obtained his medical degree from the Universidad Interamericana de Puerto Rico. Dr. Vu is excited to bring his knowledge to EYEPIC – Harlem Eye Care based in New York, NY. Dr. Vu believes in providing outstanding eye care and greatly invests in delivering quality care as well as professional patient service. As an optometrist, he is proficient in managing long-sightedness or hyperopia, allergic eye problems, eyelid problems, and double vision. Dr. Vu dedication and patient-centric care routine are unmatched. He is a multilingual communicator who can converse in English, Spanish, and Vietnamese which makes him skilled in building and strengthening relationships with diverse populations.
Dr. Virk obtained her Bachelor of Science from the University of California, Irvine with a major in Public Health Sciences and a minor in Biology. She pursued her dream to become an optometrist by attending the Inter American University of Puerto Rico where she obtained her doctorate of Optometry degree. She enjoys working with patients of all ages with a distinct passion for ocular diseases such as diabetic retinopathy, hypertensive retinopathy, and glaucoma.
Throughout the years Dr. Virk has worked alongside ophthalmologists who specialize in LASIK and Cataract surgery becoming proficient with pre/post operational care. She has experience with vision therapy and treating patients with abnormal eye turns or amblyopia, commonly known as a lazy eye. Dr. Virk is fluent in English, Spanish, and Punjabi allowing her to communicate with a large patient demographic. In her free time she enjoys traveling, experiencing different cultures and cuisines.
Dr. Andrew Gewirtz received his undergraduate degree from the University of Pennsylvania in 1975. He attended Chicago Medical School and obtained his medical degree in 1978. Dr. Gewirtz completed residencies in Pediatrics at North Shore University Hospital and Ophthalmology at SUNY Downstate Medical Center. He has been in private practice ophthalmology for over 20 years. Dr. Gewirtz has taught in several residency programs, including New York Eye and Ear Infirmary. Dr. Gewirtz is certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology, the American Board of Pediatrics and the National Board of Medical Examiners. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American College of Pediatrics. Additionally, he is a member of the Section of Ophthalmology.
